This is a good carnivore for the beginning hunter to try, but beware, it will attack you at close range. A dangerous dinosaur indeed, this saw-toothed meat eater with its immense expandable jaws and claw bearing toes is a challenge to hunt. This muscular dinosaur has an average sense of sight, an excellent sense of smell, and a low sense of hearing. The target-zones on this specimen are the head, neck, and back areas.

Allosaurus is one of the first dinosaurs to be hunted in the many tours in the Central Sector. It was featured in Carnivores, Carnivores 2, and Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter.

Biology[]

The FMM UV-32 Allosaurus differs from its Earth counterpart in many ways. Notably, its role in the food chain with Ceratosaurus is swapped. The Allosaurus suffers from insular dwarfism and evolved to become a much faster and more agile hunter than its Earth counterpart. Many characteristics of Allosaurus are comparable to some type of dromaeosaurid dinosaur. They are known to be solitary but when more than one is alerted to a hunter in an area, they may turn into a disorganized pack to attack the hunter. It usually attacks the hunter by rushing and jumping on top of them to finish them off.

Carnivores[]

Target zone[]

In Carnivores, Allosaurus has a target zone including the head, neck and spine.

Behavior[]

Allosaurus usually just walks around the island with occasional changes in direction.

Carnivores 2[]

In Carnivores 2, Allosaurus has a health value of 6 and usually only requires one or two well-placed shots. If its back is shot with a shotgun, however, it will automatically die.

Behavior[]

Allosaurus in Carnivores 2 behaves similarly to its behavior in Carnivores, with the addition of swerving much more along a path when chasing the hunter. Also, when the hunter is shooting an Allosaurus while the dinosaur is at the beach and the hunter on the cliff, Allosaurus could jump onto the cliff, killing the hunter.

Trivia[]

  • According to the texture name in ALLO.CAR, Allosaurus was originally meant to be a raptor. This explains its inaccurate appearance.
  • Allosaurus may run away if it notices the hunter.
  • In Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, there is a glitch where, in "Delphaeus Hills", if you hunt an Allosaurus, and tries to attack you or another dinosaur while standing on a hill, it will get stuck, and start to repeatedly jump until you kill it.
  • In Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter, sometimes when you stand in a spot while the Allosaurus tries to jump at you it will occasionally miss, that could explained why it is the novice ranked dinosaur.
  • However, if the hunter is hunting another dinosaur, it randomly appears on some maps just like Spinosaurus, Chasmosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Velociraptor, Ankylosaurus, and Stegosaurus.
