Gastonia was a small ankylosaurid which lived in North America during the Early Cretaceous period (about 125 MYa). It was first discovered by Robert Gaston, after whom it is named, just fifty yards from the skeleton of a Utahraptor. There were also puncture holes on the leg bones of the Utahraptor, suggesting that the Gastonia had wounded or killed the raptor.

Gastonia from Primal Prey

Gastonia can be hunted from the first level of Primal Prey. It is a docile plant eater that poses no threat to the hunter. They usually travel in small groups, mostly around water sources or in deep hills. A Gastonia can weigh anywhere between 3,500 to 4,500 lbs, and at least 4,300 lbs will earn the hunter a star in the trophy room. They are often hunted by Utahraptor and Tyrannosaurus and usually travel with Styracosaurus and Iguanodon.

Gender differences[]

  • Male- much taller and longer spikes, with a lighter base skin color and yellow stripes.
  • Female- shorter spikes, darker skin with grey stripes.
